During the session on the prospects for Russian pharmaceutical industry strategic development of the at the international congress “ Medicines Development & Sales” Board’s Chairman of the “Association of EAEU Pharmaceutical Manufacturers” Alexey Kedrin stated that the Pharma-2030 Strategy requires additions in terms of specifying measures to support the development and local production of innovative medicines. “The model of innovative development of Russian pharmaceutical industry can only be implemented with close interaction between manufacturers, scientific and educational institutions, development institutions, and government bodies,” noted Alexey Kedrin. Updating innovative solutions to provide Russians with affordable and effective medicines remains one of the priorities of Russian pharma.

“We have large-scale work ahead of us to identify areas for improving legislative regulation in the field of drug provision for citizens of the country, and to develop proposals. First of all, it is important to carefully analyze the current state of the country’s pharmaceutical market and the current regulatory framework in the field of development and sale of medicines,” the head of the AFPEAEC emphasized. In his opinion, the justification for the long-term economic and social effects of expanding budgetary and extrabudgetary support for the development of innovative drugs should be subjected to in-depth analysis. This will be followed by the development of recommendations for improving the legal regulation of the sphere of drug provision. For the successful development of domestic production of innovative drugs, it is necessary to identify and eliminate existing legal barriers that impede the creation and sale of new drugs of Russian origin.
